English grammar rule No space closing quote
There is no space between a word and any commas, periods, colons, semicolons, exclamation points, and question marks. After the punctuation mark, use one space before the next word. Parentheses and quotation marks come in pairs, and there is no space between the beginning mark and the next word, or the last word and the ending mark. There is still a space immediately before first and after the second quotation mark or parentheses.
